The Eagar Parks and Recreation programs provide a benefit to the community:

Summer Programs

     Summer in the Park

     This summer program is offered to children ages 6-12. It is held at Ramsey Park and is offered as 4-2 week sessions. Each
      week has a new theme and encourages physical activity, creativity and lots of fun. It requires pre-registration by May 19th.

     Teen Leadership Training

     This Summer program is offered to ages13-15. it is training for their future. These teens will learn life skills of how to work
      together, self-worth and how to build a resume. At the end of this course the teens will earn a Volunteer t-shirt and have
      resume building opportunities to volunteer in the community. Pre-registration is by May 19th.

      RV Rodeo Club Extravaganza   

     Dust off the saddle and bring the kids out for some Rodeo fun this summer with a
     6 Summer Jackpot Series, 2 Rodeos and the

     Other Programs

      Any volunteers with specific interests and talents who would like share these skills with the community are encouraged to
      contact the Events, Recreation, & Tourism director to come and "teach" for the town. Programs in the past have included cake
      decorating, crafts, karate, dog obedience, art, baking and much more!

Youth Sports

The future of our community, the Town of Eagar is pleased to make available a variety of programs for the youth that provide a creative, challenging and fitness-conscious environment: 

Youth Basketball

Run by the Round Valley Junior League Basketball, a volunteer group designed for children grades 3-8, this programs runs each year from January-March. Games are held on Saturdays and weeknights, with practices at least twice a week, depending upon the availability of the facilities. Little League Baseball

Round Valley Little League Baseball uses the Round Valley Recreation Center and Springerville park, and is held from May to July, averaging 300 boys and girls. The program includes baseball instruction from elementary to high school level, and offers T-ball through senior league play. Older teams travel regionally for competition. Girls All-Star games start at the Rec. Center in July

Round Valley Lasers Swim Team

Competes regionally, and is offered to swimmers from elementary through high school age who compete regionally and in different stroke events. The team meets May through August. 

American Youth Soccer Organization Soccer

Registration for this program occurs in early summer, and competition for elementary through high school age runs from August through October. This program is run through volunteers of the Round Valley AYSO. Contact Shawna Bigham-President of the Round Valley Soccer League 928-333-5677

 

After School Programs

Several after school Programs are available to the children of the community during the school year. Average rates for these programs range from $30-$45 per month. A parent or guardian must provide payment, waiver, and registration. Registration occurs at the beginning of each session, typically on a monthly or 6-week basis. Gymnastics

Offered once per week during the school year for ages 3 through teens, this program is taught in collaboration with the Round Valley Unified School district, and emphasizes beginning basic gymnastics and tumbling skills, including strength and flexibility. A nominal monthly fee is required to participate in the program, and family discounts are available. Contact Merrilea McBride for more info:  333-2572.

Dance

We offer a Hip Hop and Jazz class for ages 5-15year old. And also an Adult Hip Hop class that are being held at the Town Hall all year round. Contact Cassie Morris at 480-628-6698 for more information.

 

Adult Activities

We are pleased to be able to offer these programs, but they are contingent upon enrollment and community interest.

        Exercise Classes

          Exercise classes will be offered on the following days free to
          the public.
          Tuesdays & Thursdays --4:45-5:45pm At Town Hall.
         
Those wishing to participate need to bring their own exercise
          mat or towel, exercise ball, and 3-5 lb. hand weights.

Swimming Pool

Each year, the swimming pool hosts programs such as water aerobics, lap fitness swimming, and physical therapy. There are special times when the pool is available for these sessions. Volunteer Events

Throughout the year, the Eagar Parks and Recreation Department hosts and coordinates events such as the Spring/Fall Cleanup, Earth Day, Adopt-A-Road, Christmas Tree Recycling, Eagar Daze, and Easter Egg Hunt. These events rely heavily on volunteer assistance from individuals, volunteer organizations, and corporate sponsorships. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department if you or your organization can assist.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for a team sport?
The Town of Eagar works in conjunction with local sports organizations and the Round Valley Unified School District to provide the facilities. For more information, please contact the Eagar Parks and Recreation Department at (928) 333-4128 ext.251, and you will be forwarded to the appropriate organization.

Is there a fee for participating in the programs?
Some programs require a nominal fee to offset operational and maintenance costs. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Director for specific details about a program.
